Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to Shenley Brook End School. I have been part of this community since 2012, serving in a range of roles, and it is a privilege to now lead the school as Headteacher. Shenley Brook End School is a large, diverse and ambitious community of students, staff, parents and governors, all united by our Shenley Values: We are kind, We are respectful and We work hard. These values sit at the heart of our culture and define what it means to be part of our school.
We are proud to serve our local community and to belong to the wider family of excellent schools within the 5 Dimensions Trust. From the moment students, staff or parents enter the building, we want them to feel welcomed, supported and valued. The high‑quality learning experiences in our classrooms, our extensive extracurricular programme and our strong pastoral care all help students develop a deep connection to the school and to our shared values.
At Shenley Brook End School, we believe that who our students become is just as important as what they achieve. Through our innovative curriculum and our language of learning, ASK (Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge), every student is encouraged to excel. We want them to develop the attitudes that employers value, the skills that will help them thrive in life and the knowledge that underpins academic success. Our holistic approach ensures that students grow in confidence and character, living out our values of kindness, respect and hard work.
Our Careers, Education and Independent Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) team plays a vital role in supporting students’ aspirations. We have a strong record with achieving the Gatsby benchmarks, ensuring that our students are exceptionally well‑prepared to make informed decisions about their futures. Whether progressing to prestigious universities, high‑quality apprenticeships or alternative pathways, students receive personalised guidance throughout their time at Shenley Brook End School. We are also delighted that several former students have returned to Shenley Brook End School as teachers or support staff, continuing the cycle of commitment and community.
Whatever path our students choose, our aim is simple: to help them grow into the best versions of themselves - kind, respectful and hardworking individuals who make a positive contribution to our school, the local community and the wider world.
